Back in January, former NBA player #RasualButler and his wife, singer #LeahLaBelle, were killed in a tragic car crash in Studio City, CA. Butler reportedly lost control of his Range Rover and hit a parking meter then slammed into a wall. The car had also flipped over so police had reason to believe that Butler was speeding at the time of the crash.
On Thursday, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office released the autopsy report and concluded that Butler had a combination of drugs and alcohol in his body at the point of the crash. According to @KTLA, they found alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamine and painkillers. Butler’s blood alcohol level was reportedly .118 at the time of death.
The Clippers released a statement after couple’s death in January.
“The L.A. Clippers are deeply saddened by the loss of Rasual Butler and his wife, Leah LaBelle,” the statement read. “Rasual will long be remembered not only for his accomplishments on the court, but for his vibrant personality, positive outlook and the compassion he had for everyone around him.”
We are keeping the family in our thoughts and prayers.
